OUR STORY

Originally from England, the Searle Family moved to Ireland in the late 60’s having fallen in love with its beautiful landscapes when holidaying in the West of Ireland. They became particularly enamoured by Castlegregory, its charming village, golden sandy beaches and rugged mountains.

In 1969, George and Jean packed up their lives in Reading England and moved to ‘The Kingdom’ with their children Chris and Joanna and a dream of starting their own business. In 1971, the Searle Family opened Anchor Caravan Park having carved it by hand out of boggy farmland bought by George & Jean on their arrival to Ireland.

Since then, Anchor Caravan Park has been a family business through and through.  Chris and Joanna worked along side their parents from idea to thriving business. Later in life, the reigns were handed over to Chris and his wife Anne. Today the park is still under the caring management of Chris and Anne, with regular help from their children Jennifer and Peter.

THE PARK

Anchor Caravan Park presents 30 perfectly appointed pitches that are within close proximity to all its facilities. These facilities include toilets, showers, laundry & ironing room.

The park has two playgrounds, a games room and a TV room. Last, but by no means least, the park benefits from direct access to Aughacasla Beach..
